Ensure the manufacturing areas are compliant with health & safety, quality and other regulatory requirements – daily audits and resulting actions.
Ensure output levels are being met for the production schedule, including proactive manpower planning to ensure the qualified staffing is in place, to deliver to the production schedule.
Monitor and report on area KPI’s for Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People and Environment, setting targets to drive continuous improvement.
Attend the daily SQDC meetings to report on KPI’s and progress against the production schedule and to raise any issues or concerns, and then to ensure any resulting actions are implemented.
Contribute ideas, and encourage others to identify opportunities for further improvements to the manufacturing operations within the designated area of responsibility.
Ensure Area SOPs & RAs are created and maintained.
Ensure that all manufacturing equipment is used correctly and kept in good condition, planning regular schedules of maintenance.
Ensure all jobs (and paperwork) are completed and to the required standard and quality control standards are understood and adhered to.
Communicate with all team members on the shop floor to ensure that issues are discussed and resolved quickly, and also ensure open lines of communication are in place with supporting teams e.g., order processing to help smooth overall working together
