The Cafe assistant plays a key role in our energetic team of food and beverage enthusiasts who are driven to provide excellent customer service. You’ll have the opportunity to be part of a fun atmosphere where both customers and employees have a great experience that’s welcoming and engaging. The Cafe Assistant must be passionate about good quality food.
Duties of Role:
•Ensure efficient and excellent service in cafe for around 600-900 gallery visitors per day. (Not all of these use the café)
•Educates customers by presenting and explaining the food and drinks menu
•Welcome customers by determining their coffee interests and needs. Manage the preparation, delivery and service standards of food and drink for all customers.
•Ensure that the kitchen, service and cafe area are clean throughout the day and meet health & safety requirements.
•Prepare, cook and serve menu items
•Adhere to strict portion control policy and quality of food preparation.
•Ensure that all foods prepared, cooked and stored in the cafe meet food hygiene standards
•Responsible for cleaning and general maintenance of the facility and equipment.

Person Specification
•At least one years experience in a similar role working in the food service industry at a similar level.
•A passion for catering high quality food, good presentation skills,
•Confident communicator and strong customer service skills
•Ability to use own initiative and be a good team player
•Experience in a similar café operation is essential.
•Maintain a professional calm manner when under pressure
•Detailed-oriented and passionate about product quality
